All parents of students enrolled in any division of Third Street are considered members of the Parents Association. Adult students and parents of alumni are also welcome to get involved.
- To support the mission and activities of the School-and the student learning experience-through the volunteer talents and resources of the parent body.
- To facilitate communication between the parent body and the School by providing channels for information to be shared and for questions and concerns to be raised and addressed.
- To foster a sense of community among Third Street families, faculty and staff.
- Hospitality. Organize the All-School Holiday Reception after the Annual Holiday Concert. Organize receptions after Studio Recitals, Faculty Recitals and other special events, according to faculty and family interest.
- Community Engagement. Support the School in out-of-school marketing and community-building activities, such as street fairs and outside performances.
- School Store. Conceive of and sell Third Street items like t-shirts, tote bags, etc., to raise funds and increase awareness of the School throughout the community and City. Parent Coordinator: Marisa Droga, droga@verizon.net.
- Faculty Recital Ushers. Assist with Artist Performance Series concerts, handing out programs and monitoring the door. Parent Coordinator: April Lang, alang@nymcu.org.
- Senior Class Committee. Organize Senior Night activities and the Senior Gift that seniors and their families present at year-end to the School. For more information, please contact Andrea Long at along@thirdstreetmusicschool.org.
- Bulletin Boards. Update and maintain the School's bulletin boards. Parent Coordinator: Grace Angkasa, grace_angkasa@yahoo.com.
- Local Business Marketing. Solicit support for the School from local businesses that Third Street families patronize.
- Parent-to-Parent Engagement. Market the School by spreading information about programs directly to other parents through the Internet and other methods. For more information, please contact Christina Limson O'Connell at cloconnell@thirdstreetmusicschool.org.
- Preschool Benefit. Annual fundraiser and silent auction sponsored by the preschool parents. For more information, please contact Risa Young at ryoung@thirdstreetmusicschool.org.
