Dear Third Street Family:
Welcome to "The Sounding Board," an online site where we can gather to talk about everything related to our lives at Third Street:
from day-to-day activities, school policies and rumors, to sharing our thoughts, ideas and suggestions. Here, you will eventually
find information about every aspect of our School's operations: hot topics, cold logic, strategic planning reports, budgets, speeches,
presentations and notes from important faculty/staff meetings. You will even find answers to questions that have been waiting to be
answered for a long time.
If you have a question, just ask it here.
If you have a concern, just voice it here.
If you have an observation or opinion, just express it here.
If you see or hear a question you'd like answered from other sites and sources, just bring it here.
I promise you will get a constructive and respectful response, answer or explanation.
The Sounding Board will become the place to go to participate in our ongoing conversation and to find out what's going on at Third
Street. It is a virtual meeting place that is convenient for everyone a real, yet virtual and ongoing conversation about everything
that is important to our community. Everybody in our community is invited, everybody is included and everyone is welcome.
As promised in September, we are going to find more time for face-to-face meetings this year. A separate e–mail invitation about
that will be sent shortly.
We begin this conversation by answering questions harvested from a variety of sources. As this site grows, I will invite others
to join me in responding to your questions. Those responses might come from senior administrative staff members, faculty department
chairs or program directors, board members or other Third Street stakeholders.
The Sounding Board will be a lightly moderated site and there are just a couple of rules:
- All questions will be vetted for appropriateness before posting. Tone and language must be polite and constructive, say,
suitable for a family dinner conversation, even argument. Passion, yes! Fervor, yes! Conviction, yes! Instruction, yes!
Opinionated, yes!
If a letter or comment is submitted that is too harsh or has offensive language, we will contact the sender (if that person is
identifiable; we give you the option to remain anonymous) and suggest that it can get posted if the text can conform to these simple, sensible, constructive and positive guidelines.
- We will respond to all questions that request information that can be shared publicly. Information that is considered confidential
will remain private.
- Anonymous questions and comments will be published, provided that they meet these criteria.
- Items published will appear as the sender presented them. If any editing seems necessary, it must be done by the sender.
If you have something on your mind right now, just ask right away and we'll get started on our response to your question or concern.
There is a conversation box to the right of this letter in which you can submit your questions, comments, opinions or concerns.
Help get this conversation under way today.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this site by asking questions, speaking up or voicing an opinion. And, thank you all
for your passion and commitment to Third Street's mission.
