This hands-on introduction to sound recording provides students with the skills and tools they need to forge new pathways in multi-media music-making. Students from ages 12-18 will learn how to record, mix, produce, and create their own music and sound using state-of the-art recording equipment in Third Street’s new studio.
This tailored curriculum will cover Studio Performance Techniques , DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) Operation , Signal Flow (Pre-Amplification, Compression, EQ), Mic Placement Techniques , Audio Signal Editing/“Comping” , Sound Mixing (Plug-Ins, Outboard), Logic Software Basics, and more.

The class runs for 14 weeks and meets once a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes with up to two additional hours of supervised lab time to allow students more opportunities to apply the skills they have learned in class.
