Concerts & Events

Music School New York

Throughout the year, Third Street presents more than 250 free concerts by students, faculty and guest artists. Highlights include the Holiday Concert, the Stowe C. Phelps Annual Student Concert and String ’Stravaganzas, to name a few.

See our Concerts & Events calendar.

Third Street is also known in the community for two concert series it produces each year:

Music in Abe Lebewohl Park

Third Street’s free, outdoor summer concert series is held in the public park in front of historic St. Mark’s Church-in-the-Bowery, directly across the street from the School. Seven of these lunchtime concerts present professional bands representing musical traditions from around the world, including Klezmer, Flamenco, Jazz, Eastern European and Asian. The other concert features Third Street students participating in the school's summer chamber music workshop.

Concerts take place at 12:30 p.m. on most Thursdays throughout June and July. The series, presented by Third Street and the Tenth & Stuyvesant Streets Block Assocation, in cooperation with the Church, can attract audiences of 250 or more.
